In
spite of intense police pressure and an official announcement that they
will not allow a mass ascent to the Temple Mount, we are proceeding
normally in our preparations for the historic event which is to take
place as planned on Rosh Chodesh Nissan. Posters and nylon signs are
being put up in cities across Israel, thousands of fliers have been
printed and are being distributed and just today I was urgently invited
to speak in the Yeshiva of Petach Tikva where a group of students were
very excited and responsive about the initiative.
The Police are very well aware of the fact that they cannot merely
ignore the thousands of people who will show up on Rosh Chodesh
demanding to freely exercise their religious right to visit the holiest
site to the Jewish People. They also realize that they have no legal
excuse to bar Jews entry to the Temple Mount and are therefore
resorting to scare tactics and threats in order that WE cancel
the event. They can stop wasting everyone's time, we have no intention
of cancelling anything. If anything we take this as a sign of
encouragement and a message that we are on the right track. If the police continue to announce that the event is cancelled, we will have no choice but to officially announce that Sharon's Disengagement plan is also null and void. Let it be clear, on Rosh Chodesh Nissan thousands of Jews will ascend the Temple Mount in purity. Under no circumstances will the event be canceled by us and even if the organizers are arrested and the police make good on their threats, backup plans are in place. The event will proceed normally-They will NOT break us!! |
